5 Things to Avoid Flushing If You Don’t Want a Plumber Visit

A plumber can be an expensive professional to hire. If you want to avoid having to call a plumber, avoid flushing these five things.
1. Anything Made of Cotton
Cotton pads, Q-tips and cotton balls shouldn’t be flushed. They won’t break down like toilet paper. They clump together inside your pipes which will cause plumbing problems in the future.
2. Menstrual Products
Another thing that you don’t want to flush is menstrual products. Things like pads, tampons and other similar things aren’t supposed to go into your toilet. The reason is that they’re made to absorb, rather than break down, when in water. They’re going to expand when flushed.
3. Condoms
You also shouldn’t flush condoms. They won’t break down when they’re in water. Therefore, flushing them will cause clogs in septic tanks and toilets.
4. Diapers
These are similar to the menstrual products. Since diapers are designed for absorbency, they won’t break down. Therefore, if you try flushing them, they can cause some really costly damages.
5. Tissues & Paper Towels
It’s possible that you are going to think that tissues and paper towels are similar to toilet paper. However, they aren’t made so that they break down that same way. So, if you have to use a tissue or paper towel rather than toilet paper, throw it in the trash can.
These are five things that you should never flush if you are trying to avoid having to call a plumber. Otherwise, you are going to have problems with your toilet and an expensive plumbing bill.
