Concreate Construction: The Foundation to Any Pre-Historic and Modern Construction Project

Concrete is the most widely used material in the world- second only to water. It’s widely used in the construction of dams, roads, buildings, and bridges. Concreate construction has the advantage of being tough and durable.

Here are other factors that make concrete a must-have in any construction project.

  • Fire Resistant

Buildings made from concrete tend to not only be resistant to natural elements but to fire too. It possesses impressive thermal insulating properties.

  • Durable

The colosseum is an excellent testament to the durability of concrete as a material. Buildings made off concrete tend to last longer.

Types of Concrete

  • High-Density Concrete

With a density between 3000-4000 Kg/m3, it’s also known as heavyweight concrete. This concrete construction material is mostly used in atomic power plants. It uses high density crushed rocks as aggregate during preparation.

  • Plain Concrete

Bare concrete is made by merely mixing aggregate, water, and cement. Depending on the weather conditions, it has a setting time of between 30 to 90 minutes.

  • Pumped Concrete

This kind of concrete is mostly used in mega constructions, mostly high structures like skyscrapers. What makes them ideal for this application is its fluid nature. It makes the pumping of the concrete to great heights simple.

  • Ready Mix Concrete

Usage of admixtures to ready mix concrete is crucial for concrete construction projects relatively far from the mixing factory.

This type of ready-mix concrete is usually manufactured off-site in a factory and transported by specialized vehicles to your location. Ideally, the site needs to be within three and a half hours of being mixed at the factory.
